Welcome to the website of the reasearch group of Prof. Dominic Campopiano.

We are based in the School of Chemistry at the University of Edinburgh (Kings Buildings). Our lab combines synthetic chemistry, protein chemistry and microbiology to understand and characterise various essential and interesting proteins, enzymes and natural products from mammals and bacteria. We specialise in the cloning and over-expression of target genes, and the structural and mechanistic characterisation of the encoded proteins. For further details see our research section and publication list

NEWS FROM OUR LAB

Our work on amine synthesis with the amine donor N-Phenyl Putrescine and the Johnson Matthey transaminases is now available to view as an accepted manuscript. To be published in the Johnson Matthey Technological review special edition later this year. Well done Kimberley!

Congratulations to Ben and Mariyah from the group. Their fantastic work on a chemo-biocatlytic cascade for irreversible C-C bond formation has been published in ACS Sustainable Chemistry and Engineering.
